We believe that wine gives us back the life we have given it with our effort,” explains Leticia Pérez Cuevas, Queirón’s field manager, who is convinced that a wine reflects the spirit of what each vineyard offers us: “They are like a mirror in which we all reflect, and the winemaker first and foremost. They are like a mirror in which we all reflect ourselves and the winegrower in the first place. “They give you back exactly what you give them; they are extremely generous”. This is how he speaks of his vines. Queirón currently offers four wines and all of them are marked by the Quel vineyard and a meticulous work in the winery for their development over time. The winemaker Rubén Pérez Cuevas describes them with passion: “Each of our wines reflects an experience that marks the vineyard, which we place at the center of everything, each one has its uniqueness and together they form a coherent line with the essence and soul of Queirón.
Mi Lugar
(2017)
Allegory of Quel, a universe of high-altitude terroirs, of old, goblet-pruned vineyards of Garnacha and Tempranillo. A wine that carves the spirit of a land and which takes its name from a poem that the Rioja-born playwright, Manuel Bretón de los Herreros, dedicated to Quel: My place. “Minerva, there are your treasures. There are your delights, Baco”.
EL ARCA
Viñedo Singular (2017)
El Arca is a journey back through time. To the age-old vine growing of Rioja. The austerity of a soil that is poor, essential, fragile. An extraordinary wine that is produced from centuries-old Garnacha, harvested from a unique, astounding vineyard. The winegrowing of the Old World in essence. A journey into the past.
